A Cowboy's Coffee

Here's a fella pouring his first cup of the day.  This is pretty similar to the pose of the Road Agent as I used the same body pattern.  The cut is made from some metal roof flashing and filled with a layer of epoxy to give the allusion of coffee.  I still have to add a watch chain.  All in all he turned out pretty good .  Hope you like him.

  1. Similar to the Road Agent or not - still very nice! The little changes you make like gloves and the cup make each piece unique and not like some of the other carvers I've seen who make a qazillion of the same one. Not that there is anything wrong with that to a certain extent such as learning, but I think too many of us (myself included) do not exercise our creativity enough. From this carving, it dawned on me that yes, I can carve the same thing five or ten times with each on getting a little better or easier to carve, but, if I tweak it a little, not only am I getting the practice and improvement in my skills from doing the same thing, but, I could also be moving forward with creativity, etc... and keeping my carving "fresh." Thanks, Lynn. Jim
