Muy Caliente! - Part 14

At last!   With this one we finally wrap up the carving part of this project.  I don’t know about you but I sure am glad this part is behind me.  Next up is the painting and that will be fun to do.

  1. Well I'm glad the carving is over too Lynn. Had to make 4 arms to "get it right", but really enjoyed the challenge, the new tips you showed & shared, and of course your expertise. And now it's on to the paint table.

  2. I sure wish I oould whip up real tamales that fast, might get to eat them more often. I really appreciate the details you are teaching us, such as the wrinkles and folds, they will make my carvings so much better....and if I could only paint a tenth as well as you....I need to practice for about 20 years to get close, but one day at a time....

  3. It is interesting how I carve and see something all of the time and in the back of my head I know it is not right, but, my thinking does not go beyond that. When you made the point about the "tearing" of the grain versus slicing the grain, I then understood that I am constantly tearing the grain. I did watch the vid where you took the block of wood and explained the grain. It was helpful, but, like you know, it takes time. Just know that even in the mundane things, that you record, there are some valuable lessons and are much appreciated! :)
