Cheyenne Dog Soldier - First Feathers In Place

I finished the shield and lance and have started with the feathers.  Could only due one roll before the guy started to frighten me so I'm taking a break!  I will say that this fella is really starting to look impressive.  Can't wait till all the feathers are in place and are painted black.  Wow!   Hope you like him so far cause I sure do.
More photos in the Gallery.

  1. That is one mean looking warrior. I'm anxious to see the finished product.

  2. Looking Dy-no-mite, as usual! Are you drilling one hole for each feather that is inserted?

  3. Are the brown ones turkey feathers? This is going to be spectacular!

  4. Fantastic so far, can't wait for the finish. fred k

  5. yes sir, one excellent warrior going on there!!
like northwest29 asked, are you drilling individual holes for each feather? would love to see how you are accomplishing that. he is looking like he is ready for a war!
one of my favorite pieces to date.
thank you for everything you do for us.

  6. He gets better every post. There are going to be a lot of naked eagles around Jay by the time you get that headdress covered, but he will be impressive for sure.

  7. WOW Great Carving... He looks like a "REALLY BAD DREAM"..especially of your last name was Custer!!!!
