Muy Caliente! - Part 11

Forgot……I had one more.  This will take care of the right arm.  Now that was one mountain to climb but we made it will a lot of adjustments not to mention a dose of profanity!   At least the fella didn’t go sailing across the shop as some have!   Anway, we’ll start the left arm in the next one.

  2. The folds on that arm look amazing, they transform it to a level of realism that really makes him stand ou from the crowd. Gonna be eye candy for sure when he is done.

  3. Excellent work and excellent series. Thanks for taking the time to instruct us mere mortal wood carvers on what carving should look like.

As always - I'm looking forward to the finished piece.

  4. Looking good Lynn, It good to hear tha you too get frustrated at times. Goodness know parts fly around my house all the time :) You'll have to show the 3 footer your carving for the show. You should post it the day you leave :) I wish we had lots of carving shows around here. There is one annual wild life carving show if you into carving birds. zzzzz I do go it it though and truly enjoy seeing the talent

best of luck at the Dayton show (as if you need it)

  5. Being a beginner, what stood out for me in this video is how you made the cuts in the folds. In a previous video, you had explained that you angle your knife when making cuts instead of going straight up and down or perpendicular. I have started to do this and immediately could see the benefits and with practice will get even better. However, I would "push" the knife into the wood at the angle. In watching this video, for whatever reason, I was able to see clearly (even with the smallest of cuts) that you make a slicing motion even when you are making a scooping cut. You seem to slice even as you scoop. I know you probably don't even think about this motion from years of practice and experience, but, for me, ahah!!!! Thank you and Judy!
