Thanks Lynn for posting this video. This sure helps understanding color blending and shading of the color to make the face look more realistic. I have been wondering how you get the beard shadow. I really liked the video and hope that you will continue the series on the rest of the figure.
Lynn. I agree with everything Michael is saying. Please post videos on the rest of the painting. We learn with each video you make. The eyes are fine I think if you enlarged the iris it would chage his expression some. Right now he looks great. Thanks Ginny
I like this video. I finally understand the color and shading for painting a face with the 5 o'clock shadow. I would be interested to see videos of paint the rest of the figure
I was the guy that was sitting here thinking "Why did he paint that cigar band black?" You called it correctly. I am ambivalent on more painting of the figure. I enjoy seeing your painting and learn from it, but I also enjoy the carving and really like seeing the process of creation of different figures. Whatever you decide, I will enjoy.
Hi Lynn, I think we would all love to see the painting process for the entire figure, you may think it repetitive but we learn more each time we see you paint. Us mere mortals need all the help that you can give.
Lynn: Greatly enjoyed and learned from the painting video. I learn best from videos rather than pictures explaining the process. I'm a fellow Oklahoma carver and would greatly appreciate any videos you have made on carving eyes and other facial features. I desperately need help in that area. Thanks again. Brent Thompson
Lynn, recently I've taken the painting suggestion that it is better not to use BOL and I am starting to agree with you. Your videos just strengthen this theory. Thank you so much for the video, Judy thanks for the good camera work, and I too would like to see more painting on this piece. Thank you Lynn. fred k
Great stuff! I always learn something watching your creations. If you and Judy are willing to shoot I would love to see more painting. It's Great to see a Master create! Thanks, Vito
This guy is not happy about having to get up so early to make coffee/breakfast. Maybe he lost at cards or the cowboys drew straws and he lost.He looks unhappy anyway. Great project Lynn.As for the figure if you paint it we will come.take care Lynn and thanks Judy for filming.
