The Daily Grind - Part 1

This one has been in the works for months.  It started out to be something and then ended up being something else so I guess you could say it ended up being what it started out as......Something!

He's a large one....standing about 18-20 inches with the base.  The lantern will probably be changed in the final configuration as I was able to get some hollow plexiglas tubing which will allow me to create an actual flame within the lamp globe.  Now all I have to do is to figure out how to do it.  But that's half the fun of creating these things.

Just one more photo in the Gallery and your comments are always welcome.

  1. That is an impressively sized figure. I am still waiting for you to bite the bullet, do a major glue-up, and carve a life sized figure. Now how could that not win every best in show at every show in the nation? Who could top that? Why would they try? Seriously, a life sized figure..think about the impact on your reputation. This guy is awesome, and like always i con't imagine ow much better he will be with the paint.

  2. Lynn, if there is a chance of a video on making the lantern with the flame , PLEASE show us how. I love the cowboy carvings. That is my favorite type of carving. This one I really enjoy looking at. I wish there was a way to enlarge the picture to be able to get a closer look. Great piece. Thanks Ginnyiitster

  3. Another great piece of work. Though, I don't know about changing the lantern...I kind of like the one he's holding now.
