I've done this figure a number of times and this is another version of him. I think this one looks more dejected than the others which is good. Still a few details to add....broken strings, bullet holes, etc. The music sheet is metal and will be a challenge in itself to paint. I'm thinking "Cowboy's Lament" for the title. This one will probably not hang around long once completed so I think I'll enjoy him a while before letting him go for his next appearance.

Lynn,
ReplyDeleteHe's looking pretty sad, I don't remember seeing this guy before, but I like him. How tall is he, where is the other pictures?
Deb
he is rather sad looking...I guess the Bluebird of Happiness made a deposit on his windshield instead of bring him great joy and success. He looks neat and I love the detail of the guitar. Good job in capturing the struggling artist in this carving.
ReplyDeleteI saw this guy on your work table while you were working on the coal miner. I love it. I'm not fond of the sad look but that's OK. I'm sure others will. Great job as always. Ginny
ReplyDeleteAlways liked your cowboys with the guitar. Nice job on this one as well. .....Myron
ReplyDeleteI love this guy, as I am into guitars as well. I will have to try something similar. My technique is improving a lot, now I need to work on my own style. I believe you said in one of your videos you want people to look at your carvings and say I know who did that, not look at them and say that looks like a carving that one guys does. Thanks for the videos!!
ReplyDeleteThis piece is really nice. I especially like the flair of the bottom of his vest. Lynn, you are a master of detail!
ReplyDeleteSweet Might look good as a 3/4 bust as well - Lar
