I hope things are a little easier to see with this one. We turned off some lights and repositioned the camera to give a better picture. I can't turn off any more lights or I'll be carving in the dark. That new camera is just too sensitive I guess.
As always very informative. I didn't realize how much wood you removed in order to make the mustache, Looks like a quarter of an inch or more around the cheeks. Off I go to the band saw to cut me out a head so I can try and carve with ya, step by step. Camera angle is better, Thanks Judy. Ginny
Continued good instruction. The current head looks just like the other one...I can't care the same thing twice, I don't know if that is good or bad. I definitely cannot make a recognizable likeness of a specific person like you can. The lighting in this video was better, but still some glare problems...must be that new camera has a great lens...maybe it is a night vision camera? This project is looking great thus far.
As a complete novice I'm so glad your going into as much detailed explanation of the basic first steps because if I don't get those right the finished carving wouldn't look right! I'm learning so much, thank you and keep up the good work. Trev
If you consider cutting down trees, burning brush, splitting wood, digging post holes, putting up wooden fence wild and crazy then yes, we are doing just that. Sorry for the delay of putting up new episodes for this series but work comes first before the fun of woodcarving. Hopefully, we can get back to the next post sometime this week. Patience!

'm glad I'm not the only one who has been forced outside by the arrival of a bit of good weather! The chores do pile up over the winter. Thanks for showing another face (I'm a slow learner!).
