  1. Lots of chips off the block and onto the table. I was surprised at how fast the shape popped out of the block, and how easily that huk of wood carved. I have some decent wood, and occasionally get a great piece out of my stock...but nothing that looks that good. I bought a lot of wood in Minnesota a couple of years ago and got a great price at a carving event there (CarvFest). When I get low enough to justify paying freight I will for sure use Heineke. Great progress in a short video..looking forward to the next installment.

  2. For all us weakling out there, me included, I just wanted to tell you that if you have a foredom, you can get a reciprocating hand piece for it to take off a lot of the waste wood. It’s like a little jack hammer and it doesn’t make any dust like grinding it would.

Lynn, the guy is looking great; I just wished you could have done a full body on him. You haven’t done many of them on video and he would have been a good one, especially in that get up in the picture.

  3. I learn something everytime I watch one of your videos. This time it was taking care of what you called tags. Using a gouge to go down the center to move the tag. How simple. But I never thought about that. I would struggle to get rid of them. I'm not good with gouges. Wish there was a vidoe showing how to use them. Thanks for the video. Ginny
