Framed Shield – Part 4 – Finishing Up

It’s done and it turned out pretty good.  I can see all kinds of things we can carve and display with this framing method.    I hope you enjoyed the project.  As always, your comments are welcome and appreciated.

  1. Excellent, I waited, and I was not disappointed. It is a true work of art and now I can do something like it. Thank You Lynn and Judy. Have a great 4th of July. I will be at parades and the such, all weekend, and I will have my camera rolling to catch any unusual people in my travels. Thanks again. fred k

  2. Excellent was my exact comment as well!

Did you, by chance, take any close up pictures of the feather detail added to the top of the shield? It would be great to see it in more detail.

Thanks for answering the question about burning around the skull during your video. That helped me understand.

Enjoy your 4th of July holiday!

  3. I put a photo of the finished shield in the Picasa album. Hopefully you can enlarge it to see any detail.

  4. Thanks Lynn, another great project.
All your projects are so interesting and after trying some of them I can say you make it look so easy but it doesn't take long to realize that's because you have had countless hours carving and painting. I appreciate all of your teaching.

  5. An excellent project, I thank you for leading us through it...I have to wait to do this project until I can get some thinner wood ordered, but am looking forward to carving this one in the relatively near future. You efforts (and Judy's as well) are appreciated and I wish you a wonderful holiday.

  6. Good-un Lynn. I liked this whole Shield series and can also see using that framing method with other things as well. Thanx again to you and Judy for leading us thru yet another excellent carving project.
