Let me apologize for the lack of posts lately. We've been involved with a few other projects around the place for the past couple of weeks. Hopefully, we can get back to some whittling in the next few days.

One thing I want to mention is that I've decided to bring the Pancho bust or bottlestopper project to a close. Since someone has just posted their completed version of this figure prior to the tutorials completion my interest in it has completely evaporated. I will try to start a new series with a different character in the near future.

Thanks for your continued interest in this Blog.
please finish painting the poncho so we can see how to paint our's. I for one still need the tutorial. maybe some body has finish thiers but i'm sure there are others that would love to see how you paint yours. That is why we watch and wait for your lead. thanks for doing these tutorials. you are the best I have seen. please keep up the lessons.
ReplyDeleteoh don't leave me hanging lynn. at least show us a finished peice.thanks for all you do for us new carvers
ReplyDeleteWe are waiting for your guidance...
ReplyDeleteLynn: Please reconsider and finish the Pancho tutorials. Whatever was posted cannot be what you would have instructed and the painting lessons were the very best in helping this ole carver see how to apply technique and style to make a finished carving look great. The guy that jumped the gun is like someone who took a short cut in a race. They finished, but not by staying the course. He cheated, so the hell with 'em! Again, please continue & allow us to follow along with ya and complete this project. Thanx.
ReplyDeleteCome on cowboy, pick yourself up and dust yourself off. The boys are count'n on you. One die-hard L.D. crazed follower slipped up (I'm sure he's beside himself given your reaction). I think there's more than one lesson learned here, let's learn from it.
ReplyDeletedon't take it out on all the rest of us just because one person messed up! I need all the help that I can get to learn how to carve and paint. I've already mess up two hats. I sure don't want to mess up the hole carving with a bad paint job. PLEASE show us how to paint poncho
ReplyDeleteLynn:
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your lessons more than you know. To not finish would be a disappointment to many I'm sure including myself. I hope you reconsider and finish Poncho and continue . I truly enjoy watching these and learn from them. These are something that you can go back again and again to study which I have.
Again, I hope you finish Poncho and continue. You are a great carver and teacher.

Dear Lynn
ReplyDeleteI can see how getting a Pancho before you had finished your series might sap your enthusiasm. However, I see it as a compliment to the quality of your videos.
Good luck
