The Coal Miner....Where Is He?

No doubt you're all wondering what happened to the Coal Miner project.  Well, at the moment I just don't have the time to do any more with him as other fast approaching deadlines are bearing down and time is limited.  I certainly haven't forgot him as he's the first thing I see when I walk into the shop each morning.  I have a great opportunity coming up October 5 at the Woolaroc Museum and I still have to come up with several carvings orientated to the event.  Shortly after that there is the Dayton show which is the one that pays the bills.  So, with the Coal Miner basically done as a single figure without any additional details you could just mount him as he is or hang on for a while longer and we'll pick him up where we left off.  Hope that's okay.

  2. Thanks Lynn for the time you spend making videos for us, it is greatly appreciated, but I completely understand when you have to step away and get your own pieces done. I hope they all turn out better than you expected. I just wish I had the time to go to Dayton, maybe next year.

  3. I think everyone who has been following you Lynn knows how busy you are with upcoming shows and how events of the summer have set you back. One of the more important lessons you teach is to take your time and enjoy your carving. Be sure to post some of your show entries when/if you get a chance

  4. We knew you were busy with the Woolarac show material, but I had forgotten about Dayton. That is sorta the granddaddy of shows, and you are the king of caricature there, so we understand you have to make a good table there. I also recall you missed a couple of shows due to weather, so that must have dented the old cash flow some as well. Please show us the pieces as they flow off the workbench, with your productivity you still have time to carve enough figures to make a display like that clay army in China.

  5. We understand.

Us addicts will just have to wait for our fix.

We are not going nowhere, we will be here when you return.

  7. Completely understand Lynn.. I'm rushing through two paint jobs myself on birds for a wildlife show in Vancouver, WA in 10 days. Would like to see what you eventually come up with a base and when he's fully painted. Thank you and Judy for putting up the videos!!!
