Don Quixote - Part 20

A short one this time.  Just the hat.

Don Quixote - Part 20 from Out West Woodcarving Videos on Vimeo.

  1. I would have painted a copper hat bright and shiny, would not have thought about it being old and corroded. That is the difference between your painting and mine...well, one of the 196 ways you paint better than I do. Nice job of duplicating old copper. Thinking about the underwear/undergarment the old days they made a lot of cloth and clothing out of linen. I humbly suggest you make it line colored, old linen..maybe a parchment white with just a touch of yellow ocher to age it? Just a suggestion, I don't know if they had red union suits back in Don's day.

  2. I'm like Slow in his remark about painting the hat.Except instead of gold I would have used a bright copper paint. Your colors look better than I thought they would. Underclothing. With the way you painted his beard why not a blue. Red would be too much I think. Anyway I'm sitting on the edge of my chair waiting for the next video. This project is really a good one. Ginny
