With these two video segments we finally finished up the carving portion of this series. A couple of you ask how to save the first hat blank being as you already cut it out so I offer a couple of examples…one that didn’t work for me and another that did. Up next is the painting which will hopefully go pretty quick.
Special note: Some of you have asked where I get my name plates now that I lost my earlier source. Well here’s the link to the company in New York: www.halexawards.com. The plate number is not on their site yet however they said it would be in a couple of weeks. If you need one before then ask for item number 0994A.
As always, your comments are welcome and appreciated.
The series remains excellent with good instruction and great tips...I love watching and learning. Your neighbor must be pretty close, or else that mule has the best set of lungs in Oklahoma. Have you ever carved a mule, if not how about doing a video series some day carving either a mule or one of your horses, would be very interesting,
ReplyDeleteGreat video's Judy..and Great carving and burning tips, Lynn.. I'm with SlowMover(Kent) a mule or horse would be fun and intresting to do...just my 2 cents... :)
ReplyDeleteLynn,
ReplyDeleteI am new here and I would like to say Gabby Hayes is a favorite. This has been a lot of fun to follow to this point. I can see working to a recording camera can be a pain. Just the same there is method there and having scanned back I can feel confident I can find what I missed. You are an excellent teacher
Great blog! I am sure it will pay off for you and the rest of us. You are so kind to do this. I look forward to more to come.
TT
Lynn, how about a picture of Gabby from the side, there is something really wrong with my hat......thank you

Lynn, what is the setting on you use on the burner? (ie. 6, 7.. etc)
ReplyDeleteFreddy: I don't really use any particular setting...just whatever works. I do turn it way down when doing the finer details like around the eyes, etc.
ReplyDeleteOK, I know everybody is tried of hearing me cry about my hat but I just want ya'll to know, to add insult to injury, I finally got one that I thought was ok and then I broke off the back end trying to glue the brim on..............yea I know super glue.
