Muy Caliente - Wrapping Him Up!

Well, believe it or not, after almost 10 hours of videos we’ve come to the end of this project.  It certainly has been a challenging one at times but always fun and I think we ended up with a pretty clever and unique character which is what we always want and strive for.  I hope you enjoyed the trip and possibly even picked up a tip or two.  I know I learned a few things.   I’ll put some photos in the Gallery once the nameplate shows up and as always, we appreciate your comments.

Oh, I forgot one thing!  I have a right arm and a plate with chili, tamales and a couple of hot peppers left over.  So, as I don't have any plans on using them I'll give them free of charge to the first person to submit a comment on this post.  Maybe you can use them on your figure or use them as a guide.  Whatever, just drop me a comment and they're yours.

  3. I learned a lot, as I always do watching your videos. I smiled a lot too. Not at mistakes. I smiled at the neat things you do. You make it look too easy. Please keep the videos coming. I truly enjoy them. I am still waiting for an Indian. Thar would be very cool!

  4. Fantastic....a great carving and a great series. Thanks so much to you for sharing all the wonderful tips, and thanks to Judy for standing there for 10 hours and chasing the figure back and forth to film for us. I really love the beads of sweat, they give him that extra WOW factor that sets him apart from a static figure that just stands there looking at you looking at him. I bet you sweep the categories you enter at OKC. I am trying to justify running over there this weekend to see the show and see your carvings in person, but unforgettably I have a commitment here for publicity work for our upcoming show (next month). Will see what I can work out. Thanks again for letting us see you create this project.

  5. Muy excelente! Your creativity and crafsmanship once again produces an amazing carving. I don't think you should have any trouble collecting a ribbon or finding a buyer. Thank you both so very much for taking us along on this carving journey.

  6. Lynn,
If TJ doesn't respond, I would love to have the arm you carved.

The carving you did is excellent, right down to the beads of sweat. You constantly amaze me how you make it looks so effortless at times. This carving is one of my favorites. I'm actually kind of sad to see the Muy Caliente piece end. I am, however, really looking forward to what you crank out next. Thanks for the videos and sharing your talent with us.

  11. Lynn, your work is just such a pleasure to see, and your tutorials absolutely packed with information. Love everything about this latest carving. Many thanks to you and Judy for all you are doing. For me, seeing is believing, and a picture is worth a thousand words, and this website has been a blessing!

  12. Sweet!!!
24 videos but many more valuable lessons learned. Thanks Lynn and Judy! :)
I was leafing thru some back issues of Wood Carving Illustrated and saw a WoodCarver of the Year. If you ask me, you have my vote!!!
By the way, does anyone know how they determine who is woodcarver of the year?
    Thank you again.
P.S. I like the interaction between the two of you on the videos so don't be shy Judy! :)
