MAJOR SCREW-UP! Judy was kind enough to point out a major mistake on this figure. Thanks a lot Honey! No really! Thanks for catching this now before it was too late. I’ve made lots of mistakes before but not one of this magnitude, at least not on video. But, as I said when first posting these videos, any mistakes I make will be shown because just like most I too make some pretty good goofs and this is certainly one of those. So, in the next one we’ll see if I can dig myself out.
This is what makes your blog so valuable. It really is good info for us newbies to see how you handle it. Don’t beat yourself up over it. I don’t know how you can carve “AND” talk your way through your creative process as you go along without getting off track. It must be very distracting.

I know that when you are through re-carving him, no one would have noticed the re-do unless you had left it on the blog. I never noticed the error either, it is case of looking too closely at something to really see it. I know I have missed things n my carvings until all of a sudden it hit me like a ton of bricks....it is good to stand back and look, or even better in my opinion take a picture and blow it up on the computer. Nothing like a photograph to magnify mistakes and errors in my opinion. I am really glad you decided to go with the bowl, even though the plate is going to be awesome too. Looking forward to seeing the "redressed" guy.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I watched you carve this and didn't notice until you started to paint the shirt. I'm interested to see how you fix it. Thanks for being brave enough to post you error, but we can all learn from seeing the fix.
ReplyDeleteAt first, I did not catch on to the "mistake" with the arm in place. I would not even think about the vest not being there. Some people would not even care, but, I am glad to see that you will address this and have the fortitude to laugh about it. :) It will be interesting to see what you decide to do Lynn. Jim
ReplyDeleteP.S. We all know you did this on purpose just to get us to watch the next video !!!! lol
I take my hat off to you Lynn, for the showing of the mistake.and now the fix will be that much more informative as to how one goes about a recarve. Great job Lynn, and thank you for all. Judy, don't be to hard on him. lol fred k
