Rocky Mountain Highjinks

If you've been wondering why the absence of any posts for the past couple of weeks it's because we've been tearing up the Rockies with our oldest son and his family.   That's Judy setting back there in our Ranger.  We did as many trails around the Durango-Silverton-Ouray area as we could in a week.  Had an absolute blast and the 38 degree temp when going over the Cinnamon Pass would feel real good right now down here in the 104 degree Oklahoma summer.
- get back to some carving!

  1. Lynn, It looks like you had a ton of fun. 38 degree temp would be welcome here too!

  2. There is no time to be fooling around when there is carving to do...Now get back to work!

Just kidding of course. Hope you had fun.

  3. Welcome back, hope you had a great time, and what I would do for that 39 degree temp right now. fred k

  4. Welcome back, hope you recharged all your batteries and de-stressed your lives with the vacation. That is indeed beautiful country over there, a lot different than Eastern Oklahoma.

  5. Lynn and Judy,

Glad you all had a good time and returned in good health. Did you go up the Animas forks river and the cabin that a previous Hope Diamond owner occupied at one time?

You had a decided advantage with those short wheel buggies. I went over Cinnamon Pass, Engineer and American with a long wheel base Chevy 4x4 in days gone by. Absolutely gorgeous country IMHO.

  6. We knew you R&R'n. Looked like a blast for sure, You are one lucky man to have such a great family...
