Went to the Surgeon yesterday for a checkup and stitch removal. Was advised that another operation was needed to install an additional plate on the opposite side of the present one to lock every thing in place. Didn't like hearing that. Scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning so two more weeks in a cast or splint. After that everything should be finished...at least we're hoping it is. Felt great to have that cast removed even though it was for a brief moment.

That should pretty well cancel out my summer carving plans. Sure hope I can at least finish up the ones now setting on the workbench before November or my display in Dayton will look pretty sparse. Whichever, we will be there. Maybe I'll have some post-op specials to try and recoup my losses.

Again, I want to thank you folks for sticking with me thru this. Its really heartening to see the hit counter remain fairly constant each day. Thanks! As soon as I can I'll get back to at least uploading more of my pre-digital photo library so you'll have something new to look at.

Thanks again!
Sorry to hear about the new op but better now than when you start carving again an halve to start over.Tristan
ReplyDeleteTake care and take the proper healing time you need. I can feel your pain. Shattered my ankle several years ago and had to go through multiple surgeries to put it back together again. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm not sure, but I think I liked your other postings better. I'm not sure I can (or want to) reproduce "your latest work".
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Lynn. I think that I speak for everyone when I say that, "We're not goin' anywhere. We'll keep checkin' in everyday just like before."
Man, that's terrible!!! Sorry you have to go through it all over again. You just take the time to mend up proper like and don't worry about your hits. Until you are able to post something new, I'll just keep reading through old posts and drooling over your old carvings. I might even have time to work on some of your tutorials that I havn't tried yet.
ReplyDeleteLynn, very sad for you as I think you really enjoy carving and helping us wannabees. Hope everything goes well this time and wish you a speedy recovery,Arnie
ReplyDeleteOuch! That xray brings back memories when I proke my arm almost exacly where you broke yours! It took forever to heal! and I had no plates or surgery. I never want to have that happen again! Hope you recover soon!
ReplyDeleteJust concentrate on gettin' better.
ReplyDeleteWe'll wait, impatiently, but we'll keep checkin' on ya!
Best wishes...
Michael

ReplyDeleteI am sorry that this happened to you. I love checking in on your blog but life happens. Maybe this is a good time for you to find further insparitions for future carvings. I myself have am a wood carver and have recently ran out of creative juice so, so I hope you can maybe see a bright spot in this situation. I love your carvings and hope you have a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteLynn that xray sent a cold chill down my neck! I hope all went well Friday and that you continue your recovery in a speedy fashion. Your contributions to the carving world are eagerly awaited and I know all your fans everwhere are rooting for you. Hang Tuff..and as they say "Cowboy Up"!
ReplyDeleteLynn, the part I love most in carving is making the chips fly, but for every piece there's a lot of thinking before hand. So with all this "free" time you're having I can't wait to see what comes after! God bless you with a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteLynn, Sorry to hear about the injury. Maybe the rest will do you good. I know it will help me play catch up on trying to use some of your ideas on carvings. What ever you do, don't stop helping us want-a-bees. Thanks for all you have done for the carving world.

Lynn, your in my prayers for a fast and full recovery. Take the correct recovery time though so everything heals perfect, the wood and "old reliable" will just sit patiently waiting it out, we miss your fantastic work and inspirations but only know that the future pieces will be that much better.

Hope it goes/went well for ya....and that this is the last of it so you can concentrate on healing and getting back to your craft.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sure that what you'll show at Dayton will be fantastic as always no matter the amount of pieces. Looking forward to seeing you there. Take care.
