  1. An incredible attention to detail on the pick and shovel...that is your trademark, accuracy down to the grooves and flanges on a shovel. That is what makes your carvings so remarkable, they blur the line between caricature and realistic, and I think they are more to the realistic side of the spectrum. I can't imagine what else you have in plan for this guy, but I bet we aren't through with him yet, the base will probably be something spectacular..like a pile of coal or something different than what we usually see.

    I love this guy. I too carved a Coal miner along with ya but continued by myself. I too have a shovel in one hand but I put a lunch bucket in the other. Think I like yours better. I will change mine to a pick. Thanks for all you and Judy do for us. Ginny
