My Friend Boomer

Yesterday afternoon I lost my good friend Boomer. He was a great companion. We rode the through the Rockies together, down into the Palo Duro Canyon, across Civil War battlefields, through the Ozarks and on too many trails to mention. He never complained, never bucked and was always ready to go somewhere. Our Grandkids took their first rides on him. I can't write anymore.

  1. Lynn,

I am so sorry to hear about Boomer.

Dang horses... they really get under your skin, and into your heart. . . especially when they give you their heart and soul.

God bless him... and you too.

  2. I'm sorry Lynn. Good companions and good friends are hard to find and impossible to replace. It's the memories of times spent together that keep us going. My heart truly goes out to you.

  3. I've never lost anything quite as large or lives as long as a horse but I know that the couple of times I have lost a pet has put me down for days or weeks.

I can imagine that ol' boomer was an extension of yourself. The sense of loss must really be overwhelming.

  4. Sorry to hear of Boomer's passing. You shared many a moment with him on your web-site and we all felt he was a part of this wood-carving family who visited with you on-line. Remember the good rides & times together.......and know that he's rompin' about & kickin' up his heels in that big open range in the sky.

  5. Lynn,
Sorry for your loss. I'm a city dweller and as such don't have a lot of exposure to horses. But the pics you shared of Boomer - he was truly a beautiful animal.
The loss of any good friend, human or animal, is tough - but for it to happen suddenly and unexpectedly makes it even more so. Boomer will live on in your heart, and I think you will find he will inspire you in ways you haven't thought of yet.
    God Bless

  6. Lynn, Frances and I are sorry to hear of your sorrow of your good friend and faithful Boomer. The ride of a life time is just a memory away, so saddle up and ride the trail called "Remember."

  7. Hello Lynn, I'm very sorry to hear that Boomer has passed away. I'm sure that he was just like one of the family and you cared a great deal for him. You have so many wonderful memories of rides with him and I'm certain there are some that were extra special to you. Good, bad, or otherwise - for those of us that remain in 'this life', at least we are blessed by having the ability to remember special times with those that are no longer with us. With my sincere condolences. Ron, Eugene, OR

  8. Hey Lynn, I'm sorry to hear about Boomer also. We have five grazing in the field behind our house and they certainly have a dear spot in my heart. If Boomer never bucked then you certainly know he respected you just as much as you did him and was very comfortable with you. We lost a 21 yr old gelding last year and it is tough. Your love for horses is absolutely obvious in your unique carvings of them. PLEASE keep sharing with the rest of us.

  11. Lynn, So sorry to read about your loss of Boomer but I really thank you for the numerous stories you've shared with us about Boomer. Every story brought back to me a visual of my dad mowing the fields with his horses, a passion that he loved very much.

Boomers in my prayers for you and the family.
