In the Gallery I've posted a number of photos outlining the steps of getting the legs and lower body roughed out. I used some of Dale Heineke's terrific Basswood which really makes carving a pleasure. In the next part we'll finish the legs, glue the body together and finish it to the point of attaching the head.

LYNN THIS LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER WINNER FOR SURE. It's unimaginable how much extra time it must take you to complete a carving shooting and narrating the step by step photos for us wanna bees. Thank you VERY much Arnie

Hello Lynn,
ReplyDeleteGlad to see the bovine project.
Sounds like a great one.
Lynn, Just a quick "Thank You" for your excellent work and the hours it takes to share this information. Just wanted you to be aware there are many folks who appreciate your blog and I feel privledged to count myself amoung them. Your blog is usually the first one I check when I get home from work. It always amazes me on not how good you can carve, but your ability to construct all the details as well. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and hope to see you continue it for many more years.
