You've probably been wondering when is he going to post the next lesson on "Stretching His Rope"! Well, I'm having a problem there which is summed up by the title of this post. I'm sure you've all had this same sort of experience with projects where, for some reason you just can't seem to regain enough interest to carry on. I'm sorry to say that I am at that point with this one and I think the only thing to do right now is to just walk away from it for a bit and concentrate on something else for a bit. Sorry!

Happens all the time to me! Couple of days, you'll get it back.
ReplyDeleteIt has happened to me to and I have not been carving as long as you have so. The thing to do is walk away for a bit and do something else.
ReplyDeleteLynn, you will get over it. Do another of your wonderful creative carvings and the one you "give it a rest" will "wake up" one of these days and "bug you" to "get-er-done."
ReplyDeleteLynn, I agree with the others. In inspiration sometimes just seems to take a vacation. It will return. Maybe a couple of good ol' western movies will give you some ideas?

Lynn,
ReplyDeleteIt happens to anyone who has been carving for awhile, then your back with flood of ideas.

I understand it completly. You have supplied enough anyway to allow most of us to take it and run with it.....Myron
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynn, Getting us through the wheels and making the pattern for the character has been a great help, I finished my version, and have two newcomers to woodcarving working their way through theirs, we all Love it. You have provided the inspiration, I will post pictures when they finish theirs.

Lynn,
ReplyDeleteI am glad that this happens to seasoned carvers as well as us beginners! Always enjoy your stuff!
It happens to the best of us and the worst of us I guess. I hope you can find a way out of your slump and back to doing what you do so well.
